WeNMR A worldwide e-Infrastructure for NMR and structural biology

WeNMR brings together research teams in the structural biology and life science area into a virtual research community at a worldwide level, focusing on biomolecular Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and Small Angle X-ray Scattering (SAXS). These research communities need virtual platforms to provide user-friendly computation tools supported by an underlying high performance e-Infrastructure. The main objective of WeNMR is to establish an e-Infrastructure-based global virtual research community for structural biology in the life sciences.

Tribute to Steve Jobs

In this video, Torbjørn Kristoffersen looks back at the life of Steve Jobs. I found this piece to be extremely moving and he quotes some of the most influential people of our time about this remarkable man. Ive read a number of articles on Steve Jobs this week, but I would like to recommend this post by Jonathan Schwartz that was quoted in the video.

EGI and e-Infrastructures in Europe.

Video about EGI and e-Infrastructures in Europe. The European Grid Infrastructure, EGI, is a grid computing infrastructure based on the federation of individual National Grid Infrastructures (NGI). EGI supports a multi-disciplinary user community and is coordinated by a non-profit organisation, EGI.eu. During its first four years, EGI is co-funded by the EC through the EGI-InSPIRE project.

Project ALICE

ALICE - Voyage inside the core of matter ALICE is the acronym for A Large Ion Collider Experiment, one of the largest experiments in the world devoted to research in the physics of matter at an infinitely small scale. Hosted at CERN, the European Laboratory for Nuclear Research, this project involves an international collaboration of more than 1000 physicists, engineers and technicians, including around 200 graduate students, from 105 physics institutes in 30 countries across the world.
